A letter to myself on self-acceptance

The fact that someone else loves you doesn’t rescue you

from the project of loving yourself_Sahaj Kohli.

At different stages of life, we will have different priorities and focus on different things. At this stage, I believe it is both smart and strategic to prioritize my career and focus on getting to know myself; on developing myself and most importantly, on accepting myself. I believe this is the best thing I can do for myself and my family right now.

I’m sure I will encounter some challenges, or negative experiences, or painful lessons in this journey. I may get tired and want to give up. Yet I’m certain that I will see, I will learn, I will have fun and essentially, I will not regret for trying and living my life as I want.

So, I will laugh when I’m happy, cry when I’m sad, get mad when I’m ill-treated, or in other words, express my emotions when I need to. Then, I will let the emotions fade away and move forward. With my head held high.
